For years now developmental psychologists have been interested in how
and why of development of a human being from its utero form to being an
adult.
Some changes have been identified as Universal- which means that
regardless of the cultural influences or the experiences and
opportunities a child may have had a child's development follows a
pattern which is common in all children around the world. Such as all
children babble before talking, crawl before walking.
Other changes that are identified as Individual Differences in behaviors. Such as some children are more creative than others, some are quick learners than others.
While some other changes in behaviors occur depending on the context
in which children find themselves. Such as where a child who usually is
nonaggressive may start copying another a peer's behavior who tends to
be more aggressive. This child may not be aggressive in absence of such
a peer.
